Tell me this...
...what kind of person comes into your home, eats ice cream out of the container and then puts it back? If it were near empty and they thought they were going to finish it...I can see it. But to take a container of Blue Bell out of my freezer that's more than 1/2 full, grab a spoon and start eating out of it, then put it back in my freezer?
Tell me, is it me or is that completely disrespectful?

OMG!! Who is this person?? I would have to agree that not only is it disrespectful, it is just plain gross!
michelle ~ THANK YOU. It's a friend of Charlies that has been in my house many times. Last night was the last time. I've overlooked things before, but that did it.
Kathi that doesn't sound like you. I can't believe you overlooked anything. The poor kid probably never had anyone to teach him good manners. Besides you probably have already eaten ice cream after this kid out of the same container you just never knew. Maybe they don't have bowls at his house, or ice cream for that matter. He does know how to use a spoon how ever.
Love you, Happy New Year!
Ohhhhh. blush. I do that. But it's my own house and I live alone! And if I have company, I serve them from the one that I *didn't* eat directly out of!!
But at someone else's house?? NO WAY!! That's rude and nasty!
Sic 'im, Kathi!!!
Someone who does not have what do they call it? Home Training! He's probably doing that everywhere and getting away with it so he thinks it is okay.
katy ~ kma... :) Love you tooooo!
Tried calling you, can't wait to hear about your trip.
lynilu ~ I've bought a little container ( a pint) and it's been designated as mine and I'll eat out of it. Not the same thing at all. Kid comes from an overly privilaged home, I think, and he takes for granted he can do what he wants. This time he took too much for granted. :)
rose ~ exactly.
Worrying about ice cream and spoons? Wow, are you on the lawn in your hose yelling for kids to stay off? Kathi, relax, breathe, do some Yogi stuff...or if that does not work then do some Yoga. Relax baby, relax.
ewwww... that's just plain gross and not to mention mean! there's no way you want to finish the ice cream after his spit has been all up and down it! i say he owes you a pint of ice cream!
tom ~ you're such a guy. Dang it.
lovelladro ~ a pint? Girl, it was a half gallon of Blue Bell, $6.89. Charlie and I don't eat it, I only keep it in the house for when Casey is home, he makes floats with it every single night. I had to throw it out and buy more. Darn kid. Thing is, he kind of pushed it behind his back when he saw me...he knew it was something he shouldn't be doing.
Let's look at it from his perspective...he thinks it's his home and that's allowed. You should invite him back and call him on every wrong. Someone needs to learn him. Might as well be Charlie's mom! :) Can you be stern but gentle?
GAWD Kathi- I'm SORRY! I'll never do that again! Didn't have to make that public and all. Hrmmph!
Seriously though- that shit woulda' been flung out the freezer and into the trash. My OCD woulda' slapped that kid silly! (ha) It's still a funny story though.
Yuck. Disrespectful indeed. Apparently his parents never taught him any better. Too bad.
OMG! I can't believe that someone would do THAT! Yuck!
Was this cave-person recently thawed from one of the polar regions?
I swear, I don't know what is wrong with people.... and I really don't wanna know....
Kathi, I say you have a chat with this young guy and tell him the rules. Every household has rules... maybe not allowed to run around naked, maybe view TV democratically, let others know if you are going out somewhere, always ask before you dive into other people's fridges, NEVER eat out of the ice cream tub and then put it back. Have a chat. You have such a beautiful nature, you have a chance of teaching this young guy some manners, some etiquette.
