MY LIFE AS I LIVE IT

I'm a single mom with two great kids living near Dallas, Texas. This is my life; day to day things that are probably only important to me. This is my record of my ups, my downs and the road that I've taken along the way. For whatever reason YOU'RE here, I hope you find something you can enjoy and/or relate to. God bless.

...And The Day Gets Better

Yeah, it was an unusual day starting off with Charlie. After getting his meds and him settled in, I went outside to start my spring yard work. Planted some flowers, threw away a bunch of them and started trimming my hedges. Up walks 2 of the most adorable dogs. Love at first sight. One was a big dog and the other a black lab puppy with the biggest paws I've ever seen, and we've had 4 labs. I put the top of the bird bath down for them to drink out of, went inside to get some leashes and chained them to one of the trees in the front yard. Charlie brought them out some treats and we called the animal shelter. The pup had 3 tags on her, but they were for 2 different vet's offices (rabies tags) and no one answered when I called those places.
Charlie and I just fell in love with these dogs. Chelsea (Our Girl) came over and played with them too. Got some pictures before Animal Control showed up about an hour later to get them. I'm going to keep track of these sweeties, may have to make room for a couple more pets. :)

Those dogs look like they are in great shape. They probably miss their families. They looks like good pals to have around.

I miss our daughter's dog, Dinah, who lived at our place the last couple of years.

We depart Dallas (actually Garland) in an hr or so... heading east for Connecticut... sorry I missed meeting with you, Kathi. God bless you over Easter.

Very cute dogs.

I'm glad Charlie's doing better! Hubby got his stomach bug back last night, so hopefully that will clear up soon. Happily, my son is feeling all better, though.

wes ~ I know, right? We have had our dogs get out (by way of a gate or door being left open accidently) and we go CRAZY looking for them. I'd given anything if I'd driven down a street and seen someone had them leashed to a tree, LOL.

joey ~ yeah, adorable, huh?

keasty ~ Gotta love an animal lover. I hope you enjoyed TX, and that the rest of your journey is safe and blessed every mile of your way.

puffin ~ Yeah, we fell in love INSTANTLY. But the bigger dog, what a personality!! And look at his face!

3carnations ~ I'm so glad to hear that (about your son, not the hubby, lol). Poor hubby.

Pretty poochies...makes me want another one!

Black labs are my FAVORITE dogs..thats what we had when I was a kid..best dogs ever.

And how nice was it of you to keep them until they could be taken care of? I hope if Rickey ever gets loose he stumbles by your house. Be on the lookout for munchkin dog that will lick your face off!

I love dogs too. I believe that people who like dogs in many ways share the temperament of them. They are always happy, lively and faithful

cheers

Here in Houston, dogs taken to the "pound" are kept for three days and if no one claims them they put them to sleep. I hope what you called was actually an animal shelter where they will be taken care of. I'll bet they belong to a neighbor around the corner, or close by.

tbg ~ yup, that's me...happy, lively and faithful. :)

lucy ~ No, ours doesn't do that. I asked to make sure before they took them. They keep them one week and if the owner hasn't collected them by then, they're put up for adoption. BUT, Charlie and I went by to see them today and the owners had already picked them up. You're sweet for caring.

oh i love that there's a happy doggie tale this morning. and i'm glad their owners found them...

animals find the homes that will help them. ask mouse, she showed up at my door with her kittens years ago now and we're still hanging out she and i (i adopted out the kittens as a pair)
