I Hate Photoshop
I'm in no mood to blog. I got my Photoshop the other day in the mail and have been in nothing but a pissy mood since. Unlike Hizzle, I suck at this. The first day I got it, I transferred all my pictures from my files to Photoshop, and they disappeared. I had to find them individually on my hard drive and transfer them to Photoshop, by looking for 'pictures' which brought me up 14,832 pictures (everything that had ever crossed my computer) to sift through. Right now, even the simplest thing is giving me problems. Hell, it's 1:32 a.m. and I'm still trying. Anyway, if you don't see me for a couple weeks, that's why. Suicide by way of Photoshop.

It's as good a way to go as any, I guess.
Homicide by photoshop sounds better. I have a long list of people that have transgressed against me....does that help?

I do all my image editing and all my graphics in photoshop ... heh.

casually me ~ no sweetie, why would that help? I don't want people to be anything but kind to you. I'm killing myself here with photoshop...that's suicide. Though, I've figured some things out a bit.

Photoshop does rock (eventually) but it has the worst, least user friendly interface I've seen in 21 years of computer use. I hope that some consolation. An engineer I know was so pissed off about it, he hacked the license protection and was giving it away to people for free.
I convinced him that grand larceny is probably not a good idea.
I do not own photoshop and if I want anything done, I have to ask Furzl which is highly frustrating as he doesn't regard my picture as priority.. but reading this - maybe it is not such a bad arrangment after all.

When you're in Photoshop, hit "f1" - it'll bring up a menu. At the bottom is a link for the tutorials.
sable ~ I need an in person tutorial, I'm afraid. Actually, I've done quite a bit, it's the cutting and pasting that's giving me a problem. My husband says it's the computer, because I'm having problems with the d drive, and some of the downloads may not have taken...so taking the puter in for work.
I use Photoshop, but I think it mostly sucks.
awww kathi .. i'm sorry to hear this. What do you mean when you say, I transfered my files to photoshop? You can't do that .. you use photoshop only to OPEN a picture (you specify the location of the picture in the open dialogue box)
You mentioned the D Drive .. is that your CD drive? Whenever you plan to work with a picture .. please copy them to your local hardrive and then open 'em and edit them. makes things alot simpler.

Thanks for such nice comments about my blog. I'm flattered and am soooooo glad that I actually (indirectly) help your students .. that's just sooo nice to know. How old are your students? If kids .. u know what .. i dunno .. i shouldn't ask but .. it will be SOOOO NICEEEE (if they are like 2nd grade or something) to get a hand made drawing from them (I understand that these grades have lot of drawing activities)

Nope, sorry...I teach high school level (grades 9 - 12). But if you want, I'll ask them to draw something cute for you anyway, lol. :)
I just let me wife take care of stuff if Photoshop has to get involved....its way to time consuming for me to get involved with it. Good Luck.
I'm sorry you're having some much trouble. I haven't ever tried to use Photoshop...but I hope it's nicer to me if I do :) I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough.
Kathi, I bought photoshop a few months back and I LOVE it. LOVE it. If I can help you, just email me. I'm not perfect at it, but I can probably get you going. You don't want to transfer your photos there. I just left mine alone and open them in photoshop when I want to mess with 'em. Let me know if I can help.

I use it for my profession and by far it's the best editing software ever. As for just viewing pictures? I'd use any other viewing program on your machine. Much quicker I imagine....
