MY LIFE AS I LIVE IT

I'm a single mom with two great kids living near Dallas, Texas. This is my life; day to day things that are probably only important to me. This is my record of my ups, my downs and the road that I've taken along the way. For whatever reason YOU'RE here, I hope you find something you can enjoy and/or relate to. God bless.

Strep Throat

*A bit of an update on yesterday: I probably enjoyed yesterday more than Casey did, he was unusually quiet. He slept all the way there and all the way home. After we got home we took his car in and dropped it off for a tune up, then he slept the rest of the afternoon because our doctor couldn't get him in. A friend told me about CareNow (which is really cool) so we went there around 8:30 last night. Turns out he tested positive for strep throat. So, he's on that pack where you do two the first day and one a day for four days after that.
Other than his coughing and sleeping, I'd never have known he didn't feel well because the kid just never complains. He said he hadn't felt bad enough to complain, and, as always, he'd refused to miss any school or football practices, so I hadn't realized that he was that sick. But he'll be back to his normal 110% before you know it because, as he'd say, "that's how he rolls".

Just more proof that men aren't the whiney type that most women make us out to be when we're sick huh?

Wow, I give him credit. The first sign of a tickle in my throat, and I'm crying the blues to my other half!

I hope he feels better!

I hope that he feels better soon. Our whole family battled strep throat right before we moved and it was not fun, even Landon came down with it.

I'm glad to here that you had a good time at UNT. Is Casey still set on going to TCU?

kidd ~ Casey was the only guy in the tour, so...it wasn't a complete downer for him. :) However, he didn't enjoy it as much as he would have.

abi ~ he's doing better already, or at least he acts it.

tom ~ hey, I'm just repeating what he always says, lol. Yeah, I'm about as outdated as they come.

mike ~ get real, Casey is just extraordinary. ;)

deb ~ your better half doesn't mind a bit, I'm sure.

michelle ~ yeah? How long did it take to get over it?
Yup, his first choice is TCU. A lot of people go elsewhere for the first two years to get the basics out of the way at 1/3 of the cost then transfer when their major classes start. TCU's business classes wouldn't start till his junior year, so it's something to think about. Something I'm thinking about, anyway. :) Thanks for asking.

Lots of good reasons for transfering in after your first two years are out of the way. Something to give consideration to. The kids tend to try harder to keep their grades up in a two year school when thay know they still have to have the grades to get in to the school that they really want. If they start out in the 4 year school they tend to relax just a little too much and then struggle their first two years trying to keep their heads above water. Most kids don't figure out the balance of homework, reading (I'm just learning that reading isn't homework, nobody reads in college) laundry, sleeping, eating, and the all important one PARTYS, until their JR. year.

I think dabich is right - sounds like you got a "Z pack"!

You know, at work, I thought strep was going around the office. Turns out, it was a staff infection! Get it, staff? But seriously, strep is around here, and I am on the lookout for that nasty bug.
