Off to work
It's been a fun ride the last 2 days, wonder what's in store today. I don't think I've had as much trouble with students as I've had with some teachers ...some of them are just bullies. You know what? Teenagers react to adult bullies one way...they stand up to them. I know for a fact that you can discipline (and put the fear of God in them) with out bullying.
More later...I'm late, as usual...mostly because I'm watching Green Day's video 'Wake me up when September ends' with Charlie. Yeah...get over it. It's a good video.

Hey Kathi - I hope you had a good day. I remember when I used to be a substitute. The kids mainly wanted to be treated like people.
the fact that you know who greenday is and watch their videos prove that you're a cool mom LOL

Have a great day at school. Some times you have to look at it from the students point of view, and you'd understand more. Not saying you dont understand, because you used to sub me, and you know the way we acted when we were in High School. Its just another one of them days. Keep your head up high, and you will be ok.
p.s. not that we were bad, in front you Mrs. Kathi, b/c she would bit our head off..jk.

Maria tried to bully me but you know what happened to her.
hope you not only had a good day but a rewarding one as well.
I had a psychology teacher in High School bully me. The guy road my case all semester...to this day, I don't know why. I ended up flunking that class and had no respect for him.
He died 10 years ago. I have his obituary, clipped from the paper, hanging on my wall. It reminds me of what not to be in life.
Thank you, Kathi, for being the kind of teacher you are in that you genuinely want kids to be better people...we need more leaders like you.

I know when I used to sub, some of the teachers I came across blew me away. I remember once subbing in a Middle SChool PE class. A kid came to me after class and said, "How come you don't yell at us? All the other PE teachers do!" That really got to me!
